Beginning of This Journey
I fly to Denver early tomorrow afternoon!! Currently, I am finishing up packing and taking care of last minute "to-dos" on my list. Please pray that our team has safe and smooth travel. Also, pray that our team develops a close bond and that God opens the hearts of the people of South Africa, so that He may use us to reach them with His great, unconditional love! I am extremely excited to experience all that He has in store!!!
Overview of My Support Letter-March 25, 2011
Dear Family and Friends,
I want to bring you up to date on what is happening in my life. I am finishing my freshman year at NebraskaWesleyan University and am loving every single minute of it. Besides focusing on getting good grades, I have been exploring different involvement opportunities that my campus has to offer. I am happy to say that my absolute favorite group is Campus Crusade; they are my family away from home that encourages me to grow and make a difference in the world.
At college, I have realized even more the great number of people who do not know about God's grace and how to develop a personal relationship with Him. I understand how important time is and desperately want to be able to share my faith more easily. This summer, I have an unbelievable opportunity to take part in a six-week missions project sponsored by Campus Crusade for Christ. I will be going with 19 other students from the U.S. to Cape Town, South Africa. On this trip, I will work to develop spiritual leadership and ministry skills to equip me for more effective campus outreach.
Half of our trip will e spent working with orphans that have lost parents to AIDS and other diseases. The other portion will consist of evangelism to university students. By sharing my faith and spreading His love to these people, I will be able to better share His truth on the campus of Nebraska Wesleyan. Our Crusade group is trying to build a spiritual movement and I definitely want to be a part of it!
There will also be small group Bible studies, mentorship of Campus Crusade staff, and weekly teaching and training times. My own faith will also grow during this trip, and I desire to have a fire burning for Jesus for the rest of my life!
Thank you for supporting me, either financially or in prayer, as I help reach people for Christ in South Africa this summer!
